"Alaskan Bush People" is an American reality television series which premiered on the Discovery Channel on May 6, 2014. It follows the life of the Brown family comprised of Billy and Ami and their children Matt, Bam, Gabe, Bear, Noah, Bird, and Rainy. The series is filmed on location near Hoonah, Alaska and Chichagof Island. The Browns are living in the Alaskan wilderness with a kind of life that is different from all of us.

The series already has seven seasons which proves the popularity of the show. The latest season ended on August 23, 2017, and fans are still waiting for the next season which is not yet confirmed.

The Brown family is introduced to the viewers after their home was burned down by the Alaskan authorities since it is built on public land. The earliest episodes of the show feature the family traveling to different areas of Alaska where they build temporary shelters. Later on, they were able to establish a new community on Chichagof Island. The family barters their labor, wood and transportation services in order to achieve independent living without the need of generator fuel for their electrical needs.

Many are amazed by the family's way of living and how they survive in the Alaskan wilderness. This is one reason why the show is a hit because of their unique way of life.

It is known to many that the Brown matriarch is ill with cancer and she just recently went out of the hospital. The condition of Ami worries not just the Brown family but also the fans of the show. Because of her health condition, some fans fear that there will no longer be an eighth season of "Alaskan Bush People."

However, some are saying that the reality TV show will still continue especially that the family needs money to finance the medication of Ami. While the show is not yet airing, fans are keeping an eye on what the family is up to since they moved to Colorado. Their new Browntown is actually a good hint that there is a new storyline coming for season 8.

Although there are many fans of the show, the series and its cast receive backlash and criticisms from other people. Some are saying that the show is fake and are merely scripted. They base their statements from the activities of some members of the family who are actually involved in the use of technology and others.
