Bravo’s reality show “Shahs of Sunset” is moving closer to its season seven opener, which airs on August 2. While most of the original cast members will return, Asa Soltan Rahmati will not have a recurring presence in each episode during the upcoming season, according to OK! Magazine. Asa posted on her Instagram account that her permanent role on “Shahs” is something she decided to leave after having given birth to her baby boy, Soltan Jackson.
Jermaine Jackson, of the famous Jackson family, is the baby’s father.
Familiar cast members return for new season
Familiar cast members who have signed on for the seventh season include Mercedes “MJ” Javid, Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, and Mike Shouhed. Fans may recall Destiney Rose, who previously had a part-time role on “Shahs.” Destiney has been elevated to a full-time cast member. A new member added to the cast is Nema Vand, who will join the show this season.
Shervin Roohparvar has been on “Shahs” since its fourth season. Though Shervin taped “Shahs” for the upcoming season, it is not clear whether he will continue on the show or if his role might have been trimmed.
Viewers share perception Asa was ‘secretive’ on the program
While OK! and additional media agencies mentioned Asa’s departure, as well as her Instagram announcement, a comment by “GreenBottleOpener” (GBO) on OK’s website, captures the perception many fans have held of Asa. GBO stated that the former cast member came across as “very secretive.”
Asa did not present a strong storyline, as many viewers realize. GBO voiced similar to what @amers1020 penned to Asa’s Instagram account, writing, “You haven’t been willing to share your life on camera for years so to be totally honest you really won’t be missed.”
Though it is clear from watching “Shahs” that Asa and Jermaine Jackson are an item, he rarely made an appearance.
That said, it was also evident that she can be a calming presence during heated exchanges and drama on the show. Asa was on the Bravo reality show since its inception in 2012.
Her Instagram message relays that determining to leave “Shahs” was a joint decision made with her beau. Asa and Jermaine decided that raising their baby in front of television cameras was probably not a good idea.
Spoiler depicts stars have some happy, some heartbreaking events
ET Online shared the trailer for “Shahs” new season, as well as teased with spoiler information, noting, “There’s love, loss and at least one new face.” The new face, as has been pointed out, is Destiney Rose.
MJ has also experienced life-changing events that were publicized before the trailer’s release.
She married Tommy Feight and her father died. And, too, what would “Shahs” be if not for a fight or a few breaking out between MJ and GG, since their battles have become pretty much a show staple.
During the season, according to ET, Mike admits to his mother that he doesn’t think that his life has reached a point where it should be. He believes he should have married and had children already. Children are also on the radar for Reza and Adam, at least to the extent that they discuss having children but don’t quite see eye-to-eye on the subject.
Mike also introduces Nema to the cast members. Whether a romance will kindle between Nema and GG is not known. Viewers will discover that Nema references himself as a “white-washed Persian,” ET reported.
Be sure to catch the season seven premiere of “Shahs of Sunset,” which Bravo will broadcast on at 9 PM ET on August 2. Also, make sure to follow Blasting News for the latest information.
