This Is UsSeason 2 first official trailer is now out, showing an extremely touching scene that would make the fans cry. Spoilers reveal the highly anticipated season is set to feature flashbacks of the cruelty of Jack Pearson’s (played by Milo Ventimiglia) father to him and the adoption of Randall (played by Sterling K. Brown).

Flashback of Jack and his father’s cruelty

The upcoming season two of “This Is Us” will bring back the fans to the period when Jack was still 10 years old. According to Ausiello of TVLine, the hit series will unveil the terrible childhood experiences of Rebecca’s late husband in the hands of his very own father who was cruel to him.

The report further explained that the show is now hunting for a young actor who would play the role of the 10-year-old Jack.

Flashback of Randall’s adoption

NBC has just dropped major tear-jerking footage to give the fans of the series a quick glimpse of the upcoming season. The show posted a teaser video on its official Twitter account, which highlighted the plot on adoption.

In the clip, Randall can be seen talking to Rebecca (played by Mandy Moore), his adopted mother. The two were discussing the former’s plan to adopt a child as well.

Unfortunately, Randall’s wife is not completely agreeing with his plan to adopt. He then asked Rebecca on how she and Jack have come to a firm decision to adopt him.

She then revealed that it was actually complicated.

The next scene then brings back to the time when Rebecca and Jack were in the hospital, right after losing the Big Three during childbirth. She then tried to explain to Randall how her husband tried to convince her in adopting Randall.

Rebecca admitted that she was first hesitant to adopt a child.

However, her late husband persisted in convincing her, knowing her grief from the loss of one of their triplets. Jack also did his best to make her believe that Randall was “meant to be” their child.

Interestingly, an extremely touching scene follows with Rebecca leaving an encouraging piece of advice for her adopted son. She told Randall that there would be a point in one’s marriage where one spouse would need to be strong enough to push the other spouse to step up and make the big decision in life.

Furthermore, Rebecca admitted that most of the time, it was her husband who took the role of the strong spouse who would push. She continued with a very heartfelt line that touched Randall’s heart.

“He pushed a stranger on me, and that stranger became my child, and that child became my life,” Rebecca said. She also emphasized, “he became you” and brought a grin on Randall’s face.

The highly anticipated season is coming back next month. Followers of “This is Us” still have time to grab their tissues for the premiere night of season 2 that will air on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
