Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" reality star Jon Gosselin pulled off a truly heroic feat on Saturday, June 3 when he risked his own life to save a woman from a burning house in Reading, Pennsylvania. Radar Online reports that sources close to Jon Gosselin have revealed that Jon noticed a house in his neighborhood was on fire, and quickly called 911.

While waiting for the first responders and local fire department to arrive Jon Gosselin ran to his neighbor's door and began banging to alert her of the fire.

He helped the woman from her burning home, escorting her to safety and then ran back into the home to rescue the woman's two dogs. “Jon was truly at the right place at the right time,” an insider told Radar Online. Jon's pals reacted to his heroic feat by calling the former reality television star to praise him, however, Jon's reactions were very modest.

Gosselin thanked his pals for their comments but told them he was not a hero adding, "I’m sure it was just circumstance and any one of us would have done the same thing.” Jon also said that he was just very glad that everyone was "alive and safe."

Gosselin first rose to fame starring on the TLC reality series "Jon and Kate Plus 8" with his then-wife Kate Gosselin and their twins, Mady and Cara, and sextuplets, Colin, Joel, Alexis, Leah, Hannah, and Aaden.

The reality series followed the trials and tribulations of the large family dealing with the everyday life adventures of their unusually large family.

The show took on a different vibe in 2008 when it was announced that Jon had split from wife Kate amidst cheating rumors. The couple was officially divorced in 2009 following a very public divorce and custody battle.

Kate Gosselin has continued on with her reality television success, minus Jon, who has since worked at various jobs including as a waiter, DJ, and most recently a stripper. He has also had taken another shot at reality TV, appearing on VH1’s "Couples Therapy" in which he took the opportunity to slam his former wife, Kate, calling their marriage “10 years of a business transaction.”

The past several years has been pretty tough on Jon Gosselin, who claims he does not get to see his children very often, per Kate's orders.

The two have been involved in numerous court battles since the divorce pertaining to the support and well-being of the children.

At this time Jon currently has visitation while Kate retains full custody of the twins and sextuplets. He has revealed numerous times that he is currently estranged from some of their children, especially son Collin, whom Jon has not seen in two years. Jon's oldest daughters, twins Mady and Cara have also revealed that they do not see their dad much stating that they are older now and are focusing on their future, adding that they do not have time to engage in a "toxic relationship."
