The Los Angeles Lakers will finally get the chance to workout the guy everyone expects them to draft in Lonzo Ball on June 7Th. The workout will occur approximately two weeks before the 2017 NBA Draft. Ball will also meet with Lakers front office and coaching staff as well that day. The Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers have been the only teams Lonzo has expressed interest in showcasing his talents to before the NBA Draft scheduled for June 22nd.

Dream come true for Lonzo

Lonzo Ball is a California native that played high school basketball at the local Chino Hills, and college basketball at the local UCLA.

At Chino Hills in his senior year alongside his two younger brothers LiAngelo and Lamelo, he led his team to a state championship title. It was there at Chino Hills that his father Lavar began to publicly emphasize how talented his son was to the world.

At UCLA, Lonzo wasted no time showcasing the world of his capabilities. His explosiveness and ability to get everyone involved on the court proved how much of a leader he truly is. Lonzo was able to lead the Bruins to a 31-5 record in his only season at UCLA. That record helped the Bruins received a No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. However, the Bruins would not be able to win it all as they were eliminated by John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats in the Sweet 16 of the tournament.

At the conclusion of the season, Lonzo immediately declared for the NBA Draft hoping that his hometown Los Angeles Lakers would receive a high pick in the lottery in order to draft him this summer. Well on May 16, 2017, during the NBA Draft Lottery, the Lakers secured the No. 2 pick in the draft and every since all talk has been about Lonzo.

Perfect fit for the franchise

The Los Angeles Lakers began life without Kobe Bryant during the 2016-17 NBA season. During his last few seasons Kobe suffered season ending injuries that allowed the Lakers to draft a few good prospects. In Kobe's fairwell season, the Lakers secured the No. 2 pick that year as well and drafted the talented SF Brandon Ingram from Duke University.

Adding Lonzo Ball at the guard spot should propel the young Lakers crew to becoming a playoff contender in short time. Ball has already proven to make everyone around him better, and if anything the young Lakers lack is chemistry. Ball will bring a healthy amount of publicity to a large marketed team like the Lakers. Which will of course sell out tickets and seats.

So it should be a no brainer when the L.A. Lakers are on the clock come June 22nd of who they will be selecting with the No. 2 overall pick.
