Ryan Edwards has been the center of many “Teen Mom OG” conversations over the last two seasons. His addiction to heroin was made public last spring when it was revealed he went to rehab in Texas. Viewers had already been aware there were issues with Edwards as Maci Bookout had touched on them during her segments. She never did expose what his issues were despite Mackenzie Standifer accusing her of exploiting him.
It has been a year since Edwards was arrested on a possession charge dealing with heroin, and his life is spiraling out of control.
New arrest
Last week, Ryan Edwards was arrested at his home. This was reportedly from a probation violation which stemmed from a heroin-related charge last April. Edwards was booked and bonded out a few hours later. Mackenzie Standifer made things appear to be fine, but then the rest of his misdeeds came flooding out. On top of Edwards' recent arrest, he was also caught on Tinder while his wife is expecting their first child. Standifer took off to New York, but she will likely return to be by his side.
Yesterday, Ryan Edwards was told to stay away from Maci Bookout, Taylor McKinney, and their children until at least May. The couple filed Orders Of Protection against Edwards because of threats he made against them. Bookout included the son she shares with Ryan in the paperwork. The judge granted the orders of protection on a temporary basis while some investigation is being done. Maci is generally a rational person and the fact that she filed this paperwork speaks volumes about where Edwards is in life.
Allegations of threats
According to Radar Online, Taylor McKinney alleges that Ryan Edwards threatened to shoot him. The incident in question happened on March 20, just three days prior to the couple filing for orders of protection.
Maci Bookout has been more than accommodating to Edwards and his family regarding their son, Bentley. The last two years have been hard on her as she is trying to protect her son from the reality of what is happening to his dad. Bookout shares two other children with McKinney, and they are also included in the order of protection. Things have escalated quickly here. The next court date is in May, and it looks like Bookout and McKinney will be granted permanent orders if their claims are accurate.
There have been no comments issued from Ryan Edwards or his wife and family regarding yesterday's issue. Given the behavior Ryan has displayed over the course of several episodes, and the allegations coming from Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney, it looks like a relapse is definitely in the realm of possibilities.
