The latest updates and spoilers for the "Venom" live-action movie reveal two Marvel characters rumored to make an appearance in the film. Collider reported that "Spider-Man: Homecoming" star Tom Holland filmed scenes for the spin-off that led to Marvel fans to speculate that the web-slinger could be featured in the movie, and that it could be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Aside from "Spider-Man, Carnage is also being rumored to be part of the "Venom" movie, as a deleted post from Tom Hardy's Instagram page teased the psychotic symbiote as the main villain.
"Rogue One" star Riz Ahmed was speculated to play Cletus Kasady, but it turns out that he will play a different character in the movie.
Peter Parker only, not Spider-Man?
According to Collider video host John Schnepp, Tom Holland was spotted on the set of the "Venom" spin-off movie doing several scenes. While Schnepp did not reveal what kind of scenes they are, he clarified that Holland will be portraying Peter Parker, not his vigilante alter-ego, Spider-Man.
"Tom Holland was on the set filming scenes on Venom for at least two days as Peter Parker," Schnepp said. "Okay, so I'm not saying that Spider-Man is in the film. I'm saying Peter Parker is in the film."
It is unknown yet if Peter's participation in the film will be a cameo or if it could be extended since both Marvel and Sony have not yet made any comments on Collider's report.
In the comics, the symbiote first bonded to Spidey. He later found out that the alien was trying to take over his body and rejected it completely. The symbiote made its way to Eddie Brock and their hatred for the web-slinger gave birth to Venom.
For now, Spidey will next appear in "Avengers: Infinity War" as he helps Iron Man, Captain America, and the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones on Earth.
He will also don a new costume, the Iron Spider armor.
Carnage teased
According to ComicBook, Tom Hardy deleted an Instagram post featuring fan art of his character with Carnage. This gave fans the slightest hope that Cletus Kasady could appear in the film as the main villain. Cletus in the comics is Eddie's cellmate before he was reunited with the symbiote.
The alien left an offspring and it bonded with Cletus, transforming him into the dangerous supervillain.
Carnage would be joined by five other symbiotes since the plot of the film is a combination of the "Lethal Protector" and "Planet of the Symbiotes" arcs.
