In the comics, the Iron Spider was given to Peter Parker by Tony Stark as a way support the Superhero Registration Act during the "Marvel Civil War." The original suit had three mechanical arms, but the aftermath of the war revealed three new Iron Spiders with four arms that were worn by Michael van Patrick's clones.

The Trickster God joined Thanos by offering him the Tesseract from the Asgard's weapons vault to spare his life.

The God of Thunder was saved by the Guardians as they headed to earth to stop the Mad Titan and his forces from completing the remaining stones. Iron Man and Captain America must also put aside their differences and unite Earth's Mightiest Heroes to defend the universe.
