A farewell gala dinner was held for the candidates in Miss Grand International 2017 in Quang Binh on October 13. This is the third gala dinner that they have attended since the day they set foot in Vietnam.

The gala dinner also marked one of their final days in this province. Their last day at Sun Spa Resort is on October 14 and the candidates are headed back to Phu Quoc in the Southeast Asian country to participate in the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competitions.

The coronation night of Miss Grand International 2017 will be held on October 25.

Two celebrities from the Philippines are hosting the event, MGI 2016 runner-up Nicole Cordoves and actor Xian Lim.

Memorable moments

Quang Binh is the second official host location of the pageant. There were several events that were held in this place, such as the spectacular national costume show, red carpet photo opportunities, nature trips and galas.

The candidates were taken to a nature trip in Paradise Cave where they got to see beautiful rock formations and forests in the region, Global Beauties reported. They rode a shuttle service around the park.

They also participated in a glamorous national costume competition that showcased the stories of their respective countries through the dresses.

Some of the girls chose to stay in traditional wear but others picked a modern side of their heritage.

For instance, Miss Philippines Elizabeth Clenci’s national costume was inspired by one of her country’s Southern tribes. Meanwhile, Erika Tsuji of Japan wore a dress inspired by an iconic game created in her country, Super Mario Bros.

Premika Pamela of Thailand remained poised and class in her attire that combined both modernity and nature.

From the moment they arrived at the airport, they were warmly welcomed by the locals. Even their avid fans awaited their arrival as they carried banners and showed their support.

Highest votes

Out of more than 70 candidates who participated in the national costume show, there were those who received the highest number of votes from the fans.

The winner will be announced as Best In National Costume and will automatically secure a spot in the finals.

The candidates from Czech Republic, England, Thailand, Spain and the Philippines were among those who received the highest votes, according to the official Facebook page of the pageant. The list also includes Northern Ireland, the United States, Venezuela, Paraguay, and Argentina.

The partial results were tabulated on October 14 just before the girls departed from Quang Binh. Voting continues until October 15.
