The biggest stars in the entertainment industry will once again go head to head as the prestigious Golden Globe Awards begin on January 7. The 75th annual Golden Globe Awards will be held at Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.
This is one of the world’s most anticipated entertainment awards show organized by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The line-up of this year’s nominees is also diverse with artists both coming in with experienced background and artists who are new in the industry.

Biggest movies of the year
“The Shape Of Water” secured the spot as the movie that earned the most number of nominations at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards with seven nods. It is a fantasy drama movie that tells the story of a mute janitor who falls in love with a mysterious water creature.
Among the nominations include Best Motion Picture for Drama, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture for Drama, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture. The film also earned nods in the categories of Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture and Best Director.
“The Shape Of Water” is directed by internationally-claimed director Guillermo Del Torro who is known for his fantasy movies such as “Hellboy” and “Pacific Rim.” It features actors Michael Shannon, Sally Hawkins, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Doug Jones, and more.
It will be competing in the Best Motion Picture for Drama category with movies “Call Me By Your Name,” “Dunkirk,” “The Post,” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” Meanwhile, among those competing for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture for Drama award include Jessica Chastain, Sally Hawkins, and Meryl Streep.
Star-studded affair
The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by Seth Meyers after Jimmy Fallon led the show last year. Meyers have previously hosted the 2014 Emmys and the ESPY Awards in 2011.
Some of the presenters of the envelopes include Halle Berry, Carol Burnett, Kelly Clarkson, Darren Criss, Penelope Cruz, and Gal Gadot.
They will be joined by Greta Gerwig, Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Hemsworth, Dakota Johnson, Seth Rogen, Ricky Martin, Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Watson, and more. The awards show will last for three hours and will be aired on NBC at 8:00 PM on January 7.
