O.J. Simpson, the former football legend, was released from Nevada prison after serving for nine years. In a report from Entertainment Tonight, Brooke Keast, the Nevada state prisons spokesperson, confirmed that the former celebrity was released from the Lovelock Correctional Center at 12:08 a.m. on Sunday.

However, Keast added that she didn't have any idea as to where Simpson would go. It was further revealed that his release was conducted in the middle of the night in order to avoid media attention. The Nevada state prisons also wanted to ensure public safety and to avoid any possible incident following his release.

Attempted robbery

Simpson was sent to prison nine years ago for attempted robbery. Accordingly, the 70-year old football legend wanted to return to Florida following his release; however, the state's attorney general is telling him not to do so.

It was learned that Floridians were already aware of Simpson's background in terms of his unlawful attitude. Hence, his decision to reside in Florida is not yet a better option. Julie L. Jones, the Florida Department Of Corrections Secretary, issued a statement and she said, "Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal."

It was also revealed that the Florida Department of Corrections officials had not received a transfer request from Simpson yet.

Reuniting with his family

While the former football legend celebrates his release from prison, he also revealed that he is looking forward to reuniting with his family whom he left for nine years.

He wanted to spend time with them while enjoying their favorite steak and some seafood.

Although the former celebrity had apologized for his robbery case, Simpson, on the other hand, defended his actions. During his parole hearing in July, he said, "It was my property I wasn't there to steal from anybody and I would never ever pull a weapon on anybody."

Following his release, his lawyer revealed that the former actor planned to move back to Florida.

He also planned to get his new iPhone and to be abreast with technology again. Meanwhile, Tom Scotto, Simpson's close friend, had offered him to stay at his house.

However, a report from Entertainment Tonight revealed that he hasn't responded to his messages yet. Simpson has nowhere to go after his home near Miami was reportedly foreclosure in 2012. According to People, when he was asked as to where he was going, he simply answered, "None of your business."
