The existence of the multiverse allows DC to explore with its diverse characters. Take for instance the different versions of Harrison Wells. So far, we met three in the past three seasons of “The Flash”--Reverse Flash, Earth 2 Harry and H.R. from Earth 19, respectively. Apparently, another doppelganger appears in the Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Earth-X.”

‘Crisis on Earth X’

The crossover finds all of the heroes in Central City to celebrate Iris West (Candice Patton) and Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) wedding. However, villains from Earth-X arrive to crash the merry moment and they bring with them a deadly agenda.

The villains are the evil counterparts of DC’s beloved heroes.

Recently, photos from the filming of the crossover in Vancouver revealed the identity of the villain speedster. Given the suit’s resemblance to the Reverse Flash, fans speculated that the real Eobard Thawne is back. However, viewers may remember that the villain speedster, who is also a time aberration, died in an episode of “Legends of Tomorrow” season 2. Black Flash finally caught up with Eobard and disposed of him, so it is unlikely that he returns in “Crisis on Earth-X.”

Harrison Wells as a speedster

Instead, Earth-X Flash is another version of Harrison Wells. It is a mystery though why the crossover chose Harrison’s version of Eobard.

The photos from YVR Shoots show Tom Cavanaugh back in a speedster suit that has a slight modification to the Reverse Flash’s costume. There are two lightning bolt insignias on the chest instead of one.

The appearance of Harrison’s doppelganger in the Arrowverse crossover confirms what Cavanaugh previously said about his character.

He teased that aside from Earth 2 Wells, viewers will see another doppelganger toward the big season arcs.

Earth 2 Harrison Wells

However, the main character in the Arrowverse will be on Earth 2, Harrison Wells. His story arc in season 4 of “The Flash” will be more on self-discovery. The scientist will go through an emotional journey as he aims to find his purpose and meaning to life.

Harrison will realize that he is missing something in his life. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg previously teased that the character’s journey has ties to the season’s main villain, The Thinker.

Earth 2 Wells returns

Earth 2 Harry briefly appeared in the season 3 finale of “The Flash” during H.R.’s funeral. He also saw Barry get inside the Speed Force. The character will return in season 4 episode 3 to help his friend at S.T.A.R. Labs capture another metahuman.
