WWE news: The Miz and Maryse announce pregnancy

The Miz and Maryse are one of top WWE couples. The current Intercontinental champion and his wife are currently entertaining fans on Monday Night Raw, while starring on the hit show "Total Divas." With the popularity inside and outside the ring, it's not surprising that The Miz and Maryse are a hit with fans.

Aside from Wrestling and television, the A-list couple is about to add a new role to their lives.

Parents. During a Miz TV segment on yesterday’s episode of RAW, The Miz announced that Maryse was pregnant with their first child. At first, viewers wondered if the pregnancy was legit or a storyline created by WWE writers. But tweets from fellow superstars along with an official announcement on WWE’s website, confirmed that the couple was indeed expecting.

Their love story

As stated in his promo during Monday’s Miz TV segment, The Miz and Maryse first met while both were wrestlers in WWE. The Miz’s wrestling career began in 2004 when he was signed to WWE’s developmental territory. Two years later, he made his debut on the main roster where he would go on to win multiple championships.

Maryse, meanwhile began her career in 2006 when she participated in WWE’s Diva Search contest. Even though she was eliminated, Maryse would eventually sign on with the wrestling company. During her five years with the company, she would win the Divas championship twice and set a record as one of the longest reigning champions.

The couple’s relationship first began during the 2006 Diva Search, where Miz served as a host of the competition. They started off as friends, but it wasn’t until 2008 when they began dating. In February 2014, after six years of dating the couple tied the knot.

Baby Makes Three

The past year has been phenomenal for the couple. Maryse made her return to the company following a five-year absence.

She quickly became a valet for her husband; often escorting him to the ring and helping him retain the Intercontinental championship. The two teamed up earlier this year at Wrestlemania, where they fought against another WWE couple, John Cena and Nikki Bella.

Aside from their wrestling accomplishments, the couple also starred in "The Marine 5" and signed on to the reality show "Total Divas." With their baby announcement, it’s no doubt this has been an awesome year for the couple. No word yet on whether Maryse’s pregnancy will be showcased on Total Divas, but this is a happy time for the couple, who will make great parents.
