Previously on “Rick and Mortyseason 3, the Citadel of Ricks is falling apart due to a political unrest. The power struggle is caused by two major factions – the Mortys and the Ricks. “The Ricklantis Mixup” episode brings us back to the post-“Ricktruction” era.

In this period, people are longing for a public figure that will unify this war-torn state. And they believe this person is a Morty running for president of the Citadel.

New ruling power in the Citadel

Citizens of the Citadel adore this good Morty. He is smart, charismatic and just the right person to reconcile their divided society.

He even delivered a touching privilege speech about unification and snatched the presidency by storm.

Now that he’s in-charge, rumors and destabilization plots come to the surface. Some say the President-elect Morty is somehow different from his campaign image. Interestingly, the then-Candidate Morty’s campaign manager had met with Deep Throat Rick to collect a secret file.

According to Nerdist, the file contains information regarding President Morty’s origins. This part can’t be considered hard proof for now but looking at it deeper, it proves otherwise.

Evil Morty according to a Redditor

The report is based on a fan theory posted on Reddit. The said post suggests that the Evil Morty in Season 3 is C-137 Rick’s Morty.

The Redditor even cited the first encounter between the Kind Rick and Evil Morty back in “Rick And Morty” Season 1 Episode 10.

At the moment, the said theory has exploded into an epic potential spoiler. What made it more conceivable is the photographic evidence cited from the ending shots of Season 3’s Episode 7.

In that final shot, all of the dead characters in the citadel were shown floating in space including Campaign Manager Morty’s remains.

Surprisingly, the secret file he previously collected leaked images of Evil Morty with his distinctive eye patch.

Blood Redhead returns

Also returning is the haunting theme song of Evil Morty, “For the Damaged Coda.” It plays a commanding horror among viewers as the episode fade into the credits. It’s considerably a perfect way of introducing the return of the much-awaited alter ego.

The Blood Redhead band recorded this song as part of their “Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons” album.
