Filming for “Game of Thrones” Season 8 is fast approaching, and little by little, details have started to arrive about the installment. With production set to begin in October, we have rounded up what little we know about the new characters and possible plot details.

Dothraki assemble

We received our first spoiler for Season 8 just a few days after the Season 7 finale of “Game of Thrones.” Early in September, a photo of a hut emerged online. The hut bears a resemblance to the Dothraki huts we saw in Season 1. According to reports, there are two of these small huts and a larger one set up at the Belfast Studios, where filming for the series mostly takes place.

It is likely that they were set up in advance for the filming. It is unknown though whether they will be moved to an open location during production. There is one thing the image tells us and that is the Dothraki will be there in the fight against the Night King and the White Walkers.

Another bloody and epic battle

Bringing back directors David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik to “Game of Thrones” assures an epic end to the show. Nutter directed the Red Wedding sequence in “The Rains of Castamere” episode and Cersei’s Walk of Shame.

Meanwhile, Sapochnik is most famous for his work on the epic “Battle of the Bastards” and “The Winds of Winter.” It is likely that Sapochnik will direct the final showdown between humans and White Walkers. Their return to the show confirms what the casts previously teased about Season 8. They only had one word to describe the installment, and that is “carnage.”

Jon Snow impregnates Daenerys

Kit Harington may have confirmed rumors about his character, Jon Snow, becoming a father in Season 8.

The actor was at a Formula 1 event in Italy recently when a fan asked him whether Jon fathers Daenerys Targaryen’s child. Harington only gave a cryptic smile in response.

New characters

  • Mercenary: will appear in two episodes and must be between the age of 35 and 50. The mercenary is charismatic, authoritative, cool, and fit like a military man. According to Watchers on the Wall, the addition of the mercenary ties to the arrival of the Golden Company to Kings Landing. In the Season 7 finale, Cersei revealed that she ordered Euron Greyjoy to fetch these sellswords from Essos.
  • Sailor: Described as a rough and sea-faring type with a strong presence and weathered face. This person is between the age of 35-50. It is likely the sailor meets up with either Euron or Theon in Season 8, as they were both bound for the sea when we left them in Season 7.
  • Two guards: One in his 20s and the other in his 30s but both are physically fit and dependable. Their casting confirms that filming for “Game of Thrones” Season 8 will return to Spain.
  • Three new characters for the North: A sexy, confident and attractive girl, a farmer, and a Northern sentry. These new characters may end up as casualties with the White Walkers moving up North.
