The last time we saw the Dothraki army was in the Season 7 finale of “Game of Thrones.” They stood guard with the Unsullied outside the walls of Kings Landing while Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow and company were at the Dragonpit meeting with Cersei and Jaime Lannister. Now a leaked set photo gave us a hint at their next whereabouts when Season 8 opens. It is likely that they will fight alongside Daenerys and the King of the North in the battle against the White Walkers.

Dothraki huts

The Spanish website Los Siete Reinos shared a photo of what appears to be a Dothraki hut at the Titanic Studios in Belfast.

The said set up is supposedly for the filming of “Game of Thrones” Season 8. According to the publication, there are two of these small huts at the studios and a larger one.

It is unknown if these huts will stay at the Belfast studios or will be relocated at an external location during filming. However, it is also unclear if the photo is recent or old. According to the publication’s source, the image was taken sometime in the first week of September. Perhaps these huts are set up ahead in preparation for the filming of the series in October.

There is reason to believe though that the photo is legit since it came from the Belfast Studios. This is where most of the filming for the series takes place.

Game of Thrones” does most of its North-set storylines in Belfast.

What the photo tells us about ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8

The image does not tell us much about what happens in the upcoming season.

However, we can guess that when Season 8 opens, the Dothraki army will be at the forefront of the battle against the White Walkers. These brave men will not back down from any fight, just like what we saw in Season 7 episode 4, “The Spoils of War." They did not waver when they engaged in combat with the fully armed Lannister army during the loot train attack.

It is possible that the Dothraki have decided to join the Mother of Dragons, whom they have since been loyal, in her fight against the army of the dead. If this is the case, then we can assume that the larger hut set up at the Belfast Studios is Daenerys Targaryen’s quarters.

Season 8 release date

We still have two years to wait until the show returns on screen. HBO has yet to announce an exact release date. Season 8 will be the final run of “Game of Thrones” with the shortest number of episodes. It only has six. Whereas Seasons one to six had 10 and Season 7 had seven episodes.
