Ed Sheeran made his first appearance on the popular TV show, Game of Thrones,” in its seventh season. He was among the group of soldiers that Arya encounters while on her way to The King’s Landing. The singer gives a taste of his music in the episode. During a recent interview, Sheeran was asked whether he’d be making to return to “Game of Thrones.” Following which, he replied by saying that he has no intentions of making a comeback in the show and that he thinks that his character is probably already dead by now.'

Sheeran in the “Dragonstone” episode

Sheeran appeared in the episode titled, “Dragonstone.” He was a Lannister Soldier and even shared a scene with Arya Stark, played by actress Maisie Williams.

According to a report by Fox News, Williams is a big fan of Sheeran’s. Most of the singer’s fans were delighted to see him on the small-screen, but many others criticized the show-runners for the idea. The celebrity told MTV News that the viewers don’t want to see him make a comeback. He also added by saying that all he wished to do, was a make a cameo on the show and he is done with it. He further stated on the basis of the events that took place in the show later, he thinks that his character is already dead by now.

In the fifth episode of “Game of Thrones,” a significant chunk of the Lannister soldiers were burned alive. Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons along with the Dothraki army attacked took the unaware Lannister soldiers on the open ground.

Most of them were either burned alive or killed by Dothraki blades. Ed Sheeran feels that his character might have died in that battle. “We were all quite young, those soldiers,” he said. “I doubt I’m going to survive for that long, to be honest, when there are dragons in the world.”

When the audience began making a fuss about Ed Sheeran’s cameo in the show, writer Jeremy Podeswa told the Daily Beast that he is surprised to see the viewers react this way.

In fact, he felt that it was “quite organic” for Sheeran to appear the way he did. According to a report by Page Six, Ed Sheeran even deleted her social media account after he started receiving hate from his fans for appearing on “Game of Thrones.” The singer later denied that his decision was not influenced by that factor. He said that he has always wanted to get off Twitter, and his move has got nothing to do with what the people have to say about his “Game of Thrones” cameo.
