"BoJack Horseman" is returning for Season 4 this week. Fans and viewers of the animated series have been waiting for it for over a year. Here are the latest updates about the series.

What can viewers expect in the new season of "BoJack Horseman”?

SlashFilm got the chance to talk with series creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Based on the interview, Bojack (Will Arnett) will be introduced late in the new season. It's not that late though, but the character will be kept hidden for a number of episodes. According to Bob-Waksberg in their world, BoJack has been gone for a year.

This is the reason why the production has been marketing the phrase "Where is BoJack" because the main character is missing. Bob-Waksberg even joked that it's funny to call the show "Bojack Horseman" when BoJack is not present in the episode.

Although BoJack is missing for a number of episodes, viewers should look forward to celebrity name drops. According to the showrunner, there are scenes when they take a jab against a celebrity to the point that even he, himself, feels that it is too mean. However, they still put it on the script if it makes them laugh.

Bob-Waksberg explained that it is not their intention to make someone feel bad with their celebrity jokes in "BoJack Horseman." So he will definitely feel bad if someone approaches him because they made him or her feel bad about the joke.

While some may have issues or others may feel that the celebrity deserves it, there are also instances when they just find something funny about a particular person, so they incorporate the idea in the show.

While BoJack will be missing IGN speculates that that the hero in the series is Mr. Peanutbutter (Paul F. Tompkins). According to the publication, BoJack is a damaged antihero.

He is toxic to the people around him because he dwells in his misery.

On the other hand, Mr. Peanutbutter is light-hearted. He is the opposite figure of the titular character. As the audience sees more of Mr. Peanutbutter he becomes the closest thing one can identify as the actual hero in the series.

When will the new season premiere?

The new season of the American adult animated sitcom will air this Friday, Sept. 8 on Netflix. Its premiere date was announced on its official Twitter page that features a tropical image with the words that read, “All new episodes September 8.

The last season ended with BoJack being upset after his Oscar award was taken from him. The protagonist is hopeless, so that could be the reason he will be missing in the first few episodes of Season 4. Fans should not worry though as even without the self-loathing horse, the show will still be filled with fun, jokes and comical skit.
