Vivo is expected to introduce its mid-ranger X20 in the market soon. In fact, the smartphone has been subject to many leaks lately. According to a Report by GSMArena, the handset was revealed through a couple of live images last week. The leak confirmed that it will come powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor. The device will fall in the mid-range smartphone category.
Online publication Android Pure shared a launch invite to Vivo’s upcoming event. The invite suggests that the company is going to introduce the X20 smartphone on September 21.
The handset is further expected to pack up a front panel with minimal bezels. This falls in line with the previous rumors. The smartphone was even listed on the official TENAA website as carrying the same information. In fact, the TENAA listing revealed that Vivo X20 is going to be launched with either a younger or elder sibling. Both the smartphones will feature a dual rear camera setup. The fingerprint scanning option will be located on its rear panel, right next to the camera module.
Here are the rumored specs and features of the phone
According to a report by Gadgets 360, the smartphone is going to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, clocked at 2.2GHz. The device will apparently run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
This comes across as disappointing because Google has already rolled out its latest Oreo update. Most smartphone manufacturers are working towards getting this update onboard. Vivo, on the other hand, has decided to settle for an older operating system. The Vivo X20 will either feature a 5.2-inch or 5.5-inch full HD display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution.
In the storage department, the handset is expected to offer 6GB of RAM along with either 64GB or 128GB of ROM options. Users will also get the option of expanding its memory via the microSD card slot option if they prefer. The smartphone will house a 3,500mAh battery.
A fingerprint scanner could also be featured
According to a report by GSMArena, the smartphone will feature a dual rear camera setup with two 24-megapixel rear sensors and a similar setup on its front panel as well.
Vivo is highly rumored to integrate an under-the-display fingerprint scanner with X20. However, the same hasn’t been confirmed by the firm as yet. Therefore, it remains to be seen what exactly takes place next. Additional details regarding this matter will show up online soon.
