Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced on their social media pages that they are separating. They have been married for eight years and said in their joint statement that they did everything and tried for a long time to make their relationship work.
Pratt said in a statement on Facebook on Sunday that they are sad to announce that they are legally separating, and they are disappointed that they were not able to make their relationship work, People reported. The two posted the same joint statement on their pages and they noted that their son “has two parents who love him very much and for his sake” they asked to keep the matter as private as possible as they move forward separately.
Pratt and Faris also said in their statement that they still love each other, will always cherish the time they spent together, and will still have respect for each other.
Rumors about marital problems surfaced months ago
According to reports, the two have been rumored to be having marital problems in the past months. Sources told People magazine that Faris has been unhappy whenever Pratt was away to film some of his new movies. The separation from Pratt reportedly took a toll on their relationship, and it was difficult for Faris whenever he was away for work.
The 38-year-old actor was also recently spotted without his ring, making the rumors about him and Faris being separated all the more the talk of the town.
Before split, Faris opened up about marriage

The 40-year-old actress also revealed that she visited Pratt in London while he was shooting “Jurassic World 2,” and he rented a boat so they could go “up and down the Thames.” She described it as “wildly romantic.”
They first met on the set of the 2007 movie “Take Me Home Tonight” and got engaged in 2008. They got married in 2009. The two have a son named Jack, set to turn five this August.
