All is not well in the land of Hollywood, as long time married couple Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have announced their legal Separation. Both actors took to their social media accounts to share the news, and fans have strongly reacted on Twitter.

Their joint statement read that they were "legally separating" because they "tried hard for a long time" and were "disappointed" to come to the conclusion that they were parting ways. They also admitted their desire to keep the separation "as private as possible moving forward" for the sake of their son, Jack.

'Love is dead,' fans cry out

According to Entertainment Weekly, the general population who were shocked at the news that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris were separating after eight years of marriage took to social media to air their feelings.

Some people have expressed their sadness, shock, and horror at the news, with some even claiming that "love is dead." Pratt and Faris have always been very publicly loving towards each other, always taking the opportunity to praise each other in interviews. The pair, with their son Jack, were spotted all smiles, together and happy in April when Pratt was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Fame may have played a part in the separation

Chris Pratt launched his acting career with "Parks and Recreation," in which he played the ever-adorable Andy Dwyer.

He was launched into superstardom when he dropped serious pounds to play the role of Peter Quill/Star-Lord in James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" back in 2014. The massively successful film received an equally successful sequel that was released this year.

He also starred in the blockbuster hit "Jurassic World," which will also receive a sequel next year.

In 2011, Pratt starred with his wife, Anna Faris in "What's Your Number?" and also appeared in 2012's "Zero Dark Thirty."

Actor as a bonafide leading man

Chris Pratt has proven to be a box office hit actor with two massive franchises under his belt. But Anna Faris has also been making waves as an actress and host. Faris is on the hit CBS sitcom, "Mom" and hosts her own podcast titled "Anna Faris is Unqualified."

Earlier this month, Faris spoke out about the struggles of being in a relationship with a very public figure.

She admitted to PEOPLE, "I don’t think that’s something, when you’re an actor, that you’re prepared for. There are two different roles that you play—the one on-camera and the one in public. That’s the tricky part."

She also commented on the topic in her podcast, in which she admitted that she does feel "vulnerable" when tabloids report on infidelity. The pair were often the subject of adoration among fans who believed their relationship would survive Hollywood, but as with all good things, most of them must come to an end.
