Disney has released a quick preview of what fans can expect from the second installment of Wreck-It Ralph. Coming from the success of the first movie, the animation giant is projected to release a box office hit once again. After six years, fantasy-comedy Wreck-It Ralph 2 will be in cinemas come 2018.

Entitled “Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2,” Disney opted to release a sneak peak during the D23 Expo. The D23 is an ultimate Disney fan event and was a great venue to reignite interest in the Wreck-It Ralph animation movie franchise.

Trailer Sneak Peak

The trailer showed Ralph and Vanellope swimming speedily through what looks like an internet cable. Apparently, the real world arcade from the first movie has had some technology upgrades. The arcade is finally connected to the world wide web. A Wi-Fi router is in place which connects it online.

Wreck-It Ralph

For those who missed the first film, Ralph leads the pack as one of the designated “bad guys” in some Arcade Games under Litwak’s Family Fun Center & Arcade. His role is to damage and break things in a game called Fix-It Felix, Inc. His counterpart, Felix, fixes everything he breaks and gets all the praises.

After a while, Ralph gets sick of receiving negative comments and all sorts of backlash for a role that he was merely assigned to do.

He sets his sights on other arcade games instead. He tries his hand at a shooter game called Hero’s Duty. His adventure begins as he meets new people from other games and tries to get out of sticky situations.

Reprised Roles

Director Rich Moore has agreed to direct the sequel again. He is best known for his work on The Simpsons, Futurama, and The Critic.

He also co-directed another Disney smash hit entitled Zootopia. The Wreck-It Ralph family is in good hands since he has several awards under his name from the Emmy Awards, Annie Awards, and Academy Awards.

The original voice cast members have also agreed to join the sequel as well. John C. Reilly is back as the lead Wreck-It Ralph.

He has added voice actor to his long list of roles which include comedian, singer, songwriter, screen writer, and producer. Sara Silverman returns as well for her role as Vanellope von Schweetz, a racer/glitch in Sugar Rush. Jane Lynch plays Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun. Reminiscent of her role on Glee, she is a strong-willed and feisty character once again. This time, it’s in an arcade game. Phil Johnston wrote the screenplay for both movies as well.

Disney expo

During the Pixar and Disney Animation panel at the D23 Disney Fann Expo, Director Moore and Silverman made an appearance. They shared tidbits on the main premise of the 2018 sequel. This includes the exciting and unfamiliar world that Vanellope and Ralph find themselves in.

This new setting brings new characters to the table as well. They mentioned a woman who oversees a website called Buzzaholic. A new character named “Yesss” will join the cast too for what will be yet another whirlwind adventure.
