The star-studded anticipated film “A Wrinkle In Time” has had its first trailer released. The first look at “A Wrinkle in Time” debuted July 15.

The film is directed by Ava DuVernay, the winning director behind “Middle of Nowhere” and “13th.” The ambitious film is an adaptation of the children’s book of the same title by Madeleine L’Engle.

Who will star in the show?

“A Wrinkle in Time” includes big names in the industry. Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, and Zach Galifianakis are just a few of the cast members.

Storm Reid will star as Meg Murray. She is a young girl whose father is a scientist. The story will begin with her father who is missing after disappearing years before the start of the story. Meg will be joined by his friend Calvin along with her genius brother named Charles Wallace. They will start exploring the world to rescue her now missing father.

What is the trailer all about?

The trailer started with Pines’ voiceover. He is shown trapped in a peculiar room asking the audience if everybody is here for a reason and what if everybody's part of something divine?

During her interview with the Hollywood Reporter, DuVernay said that she saw herself in the story. She saw different kinds of people in it.

The director described “A Wrinkle in Time,” as a family story wrapped in an adventure. The epic tale will take the viewers into a world they have never seen before.

Storm Reid is not a stranger when it comes to blockbuster films, being a part of “12 Years a Slave” and “Sleight.” However, she still felt very nervous about being part of the film.

Meanwhile, Chris Pine, who recently starred in the hit movie “Wonder Woman” admitted that he is not familiar with the book. However, even if he’s not familiar with “Wrinkle in Time,” that did not stop the director from giving the father’s role to him.

Unlike Pine, Reese Witherspoon is a huge fan of the children’s book. As mentioned by the Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon grew up with the book.

Will the film exceed expectations?

“A Wrinkle in Time” started in 2003 television. However, it was not very popular so it was not renewed. With the new movie having a big budget, a star-studded cast, and huge promotion, will it be able to surpass the bad ratings of the first television movie?

During the D23, Winfrey admitted to the audience that she had not read the book yet when DuVernay first offered the role to her. The only things mentioned to her were that her character would be the wisest woman in the whole universe. She was also informed that her character will be angelic and is a celestial being. She will wear amazing costumes and will get to work with Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon.

“A Wrinkle in Time” is expected to be released next year, March 9.
