There were several returning characters in the second episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Fans were delighted by Hot Pie's surprise appearance as he gave Arya Stark a rundown of everything that happened in Westeros since she left for Braavos. However, viewers were undoubtedly more excited about the return of the direwolf Nymeria in "Stormborn".

Interestingly, the missing direwolf was not the only character named Nymeria that had a major comeback in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 Episode 2. Jessica Henwick's Sand Snake was back for a brief yet violent fight against Euron Greyjoy.

Nymeria catches up with Arya Stark

"Stormborn" had plenty of interesting exchanges but the reunion between Arya Stark and her lost direwolf had viewers in tears for many reasons. Fans are still uncertain about wanting to see Nymeria after her brothers all met unfortunate ends in the series. However, it looks like there is no need to worry about that.

The direwolf appeared not to recognize Arya anymore, leading to her former mistress to say, "That's not you," according to theTelegraph. Is it possible that this will be the last appearance from Nymeria in "Game of Thrones"?

Some still believe that the final season will bring her back to aid in the fight against the White Walkers. Unfortunately, the direwolf's human namesake has fought her last battle.

Nym faces off against Euron Greyjoy

The last few minutes of "Stormborn" proved that Euron Greyjoy is crazier than all the other villains in the show.

The King of the Iron Islands attacked Yara Greyjoy's ships in a shocking manner then immediately found himself facing Obara and Nymeria Sand.

The return of the Sand Snakes was truly brief as Euron didn't waste any time eliminating them. Nevertheless, Jessica Henwick's short appearance as the whip-wielding Nym gave the character one last hurrah instead of disappearing from the show without any explanation.

Henwick has previously spoken to Entertainment Weekly about being warned that her absence from filming could lead to Nym getting written out of the Season 7 storyline. Luckily, the "Iron Fist" star managed to work out a schedule and put in a short appearance in the HBO show. Nevertheless, this means that Henwick will have more time for her other projects.

Although Nym is gone, there is still hope that Nymeria the direwolf will return with her own army in the future. In the meantime, the third episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will premiere on HBO on July 30.
