A recent report is making the rounds online that “#Rick and Morty” season 3 Episode 2 will air on July 26, 2017. This news is fake due to one obvious reason and that is the day of the release.
Fake release date
The Facebook page, with the name "Rick and Morty 9 More Seasons" revealed the supposed release date on Tuesday. The page released a clip from one of the episodes of the 'Adult Swim' series, wherein at the end it announced the return of the show at 11:30 PM on a Sunday.
Here is where the news becomes fake. July 26 does not fall on a Sunday instead it falls on a Wednesday.
The last time the date was on a Sunday was in 2015.
Unverified Rick and Morty Facebook page
Clearly, the “Rick and Morty” Season 3 Episode 2 release date is not verified. After all, the source comes from an unverified Facebook page. It is unclear what the owner of the page (perhaps a fan page), who goes by the name of "ACripplingIllness", wants to achieve with the announcement, but perhaps to stir some excitement among fans.
July 26 release date was for another season
Season 2 of “Rick and Morty” premiered on a Sunday of July 26. Obviously, this video was made to announce the release date for the second installment and not for Season 3. A Facebook user also confirmed that this date was for Season 2.
When is the release date for Episode 2?
As it stands, no one knows exactly what date the series will return. The show’s co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have not announced the release date yet. They have also so far remained quiet on details about the second episode.
Harmon recently took to his Twitter to ask fans for more patience.
He also explained the cause of the delay and denied any rumors of conflict between himself and Roiland, which is said to be the cause of the delay.
Justin and I are very regretful about the season taking way too long. I want to explain "what happened" because it's way less dramatic
— Dan Harmon (@danharmon) June 24, 2017
The reason S3 took long is because it took long to write, because it was S3 of a show that we were scared to make worse than S2 or S1.
— Dan Harmon (@danharmon) June 24, 2017
As I speak, more articles are coming out about me and Justin fighting. Because it's a less boring reason for a season to take long,

What do we know about Episode 2?
So far, the only concrete information is the return of the show this summer so that would fall between June and August.
There are speculations though that the episode could arrive in July, much like the premiere of Season 2.
Another thing fans at least know about Episode 2 is the title, which is “Rickmancing the Stone.” Adult Swim has yet to release the synopsis, although according to Inverse, the plot may be inspired by the classic adventure film “Romancing the Stone.” There may be a few references to the movie in the episode, given that Episode 1 of “Rick and Morty” Season 3, titled “Rickshank Rickdemption,” was also a play at the movie “Shawshank Redemption.”
