Ivanka Trump just suffered a huge defeat in her role as an assistant to the president when he went against her advice and pulled the U.S. out of the Paris agreement. Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, pressured Trump to remain in the climate agreement with 200 other countries, but in the end he rejected it. The unpopular decision by Trump was largely viewed as a huge loss for Ivanka.

First daughter slammed for reaching out to LGBTQ community

Ivanka Trump tweeted a message out Thursday evening supporting her friends and those in the LGBTQ community.

Yahoo writes that Ivanka is making this her new focus, but several in the gay community aren't taking kindly to her tweet. One lashes out that if she had any friends then she'd commit her "treasonous father" to rehab or watch him "die in jail." Another rips into Ivanka for caring about nothing, and there was criticism that she's not standing up enough for the issues she wanted to champion.

As the op-ed piece on Yahoo points out, some users are disillusioned with Ivanka Trump for representing herself as a progressive while being employed by those who advocate the "exact opposite things." Trump's daughter is also taking heat for her father's actions, such as when he supports bathroom bills and Vice President Mike Pence supports gav conversion therapy -- a tweet someone directed at Ivanka.

It's unknown if Ivanka will make LGBTQ an issue she'll advocate for, but she's showing support that's lacking on her father's end. He didn't acknowledge that June is Pride Month, something that didn't go unnoticed.

Ivanka Trump may leave Washington, D.C.

According to a report that surfaced by Politico last week, Ivanka and her husband may move back to New York City.

The two will review what they want to do every six months. A source said Kushner -- who's the president's senior adviser -- is unhappy and hasn't achieved the things in Washington, D.C. that he hoped to. He's a person of interest in the FBI's investigation into the Trump campaign's possible Russian ties. Kushner may have proposed that a back-channel be used for the Russians to communicate with the campaign at Trump Tower last December.

Try, try again

Ivanka Trump is touted as one of the few people in her father's inner circle that he'll listen to, but withdrawing the U.S. in the Paris Agreement was seen as a huge failure on her part since she was very much against it. Will she manage to influence her dad on other issues?
