After 25 years since “Mortal Kombat’s” first release, the popular fighting game will be celebrated with some awesome events. Game developer NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be the ones hosting these events and in-game activities.
The game developers gave bonuses to their mobile games too with the 25Th Anniversary. Even "WWE Immortals" got its own homage to the popular game franchise with one wrestler wearing a classic costume.
New York Comic Con gets history lesson of popular fighting franchise
New York Comic Con event attendees on October 8 will have the time of their life with their special guests.
A panel will be opened and moderated by Geoff Keighley, and it will feature some of the prominent people who worked on the first title of the franchise.
These individuals who will attend the event are Ed Boon, John Vogel, John Tobias, and Dan Forden. They will discuss the history of the popular franchise and its vital role in the games industry today.
‘Injustice 2’ players get treats
Thunder God Raiden can now be accessed on the latest fighting game "Injustice 2" as a way to celebrate the "Mortal Kombat" game franchise. Players need to have the Fighter Pack 2 DLC or the Ultimate Pack in order to have this awesome character. He will also come with a premiere skin that allowed him to change into one of the popular DC Comics character Black Lightning.
Mobile games get their own bonuses
The game developers also gave some great bonuses for their mobile games to celebrate 25 years of the game franchise. This will start on October 5 on all four mobile games like “Injustice 2,” “Mortal Kombat X,” “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” and “WWE Immortals.”
“Mortal Kombat X” for mobile got the two new versions of Goro that can be fought.
A new Relic Hunt feature will also be available for intense raid-style battles. Shao Kahn the Konqueror can also be fought, and he can be accessed in the full Diamond tier regalia.
“Injustice 2” for mobile got Raiden too, which enabled players to fight against him in Challenge Mode. He can also be acquired through the premium chests that can be won in battles.
He can also be purchased directly in a special offer.
“Injustice: Gods Among Us” for mobile adds popular Scorpion in the roster. “WWE Immortals” got Xavier Woods to suit up as classic Raiden in the roster.
“Mortal Kombat X” on consoles and PC also got its own bonus. The game will have the living towers themed like the old titles in the past like “Mortal Kombat 1-4” and the rest.
