Almost everyone in “Overwatch” knows that Junkrat and Roadhog are the best of friends. This despite the fact that they are among the villains in the game. Interestingly, they are taking the limelight with the release of a brand new digital comic from Blizzard.
According to PC Gamer, the latest “Overwatch” comic titled “Wasted Land” features the friendship between the two demented characters. Players are introduced to their history, particularly Roadhog. Well, here is everything about it in a nutshell.
‘Wasted Land’ explained
Following a quick fiasco in an Australian outback of sort, Roadhog decides to head into Junkertown.
As the name suggests, the city is home to, well, various Junkers. Unfortunately for Roadhog, he is not welcome there, and the Queen hates him. In fact, when one of the watch tower dudes see him, he is asked if he is armed or not. That is because he is not allowed to be equipped as per the Queen’s instructions. Later on, Hog heads to meet an old friend to trade his salvaged scrap parts for a set of breathers. This is the health-restoring device that Hog uses to heal himself in the game. Afterwards, he can be seen in a bar.
This is where the “Overwatch” explosive expert Junkrat comes in. Apparently, he knows the very location of a massive treasure, which also garnered him the attention of others.
He almost gets beaten, but fortunately, Roadhog is there. The rest is history. The comic ends in a bromance, as the two lovingly argue their treasure split. Somehow, the comic connects to the Junkertown the Land animated short for the fact that it mentions the city.
Junkrat and his buff
It is worth noting that Junkrat received a new buff lately in “Overwatch.” He is now capable of throwing two Concussion Mines.
One can be used for mobility, while the other for eliminating opponents. This buff also gave the explosive expert a slight advantage on the battlefield. He is now capable of going toe-to-toe with other characters, most especially the highly-valued ones. He can easily dismantle the likes of Mercy, Ana, and Lucio with his Concussion Mine combo.
In fact, he is getting more picks from the community lately.
Roadhog, on the other hand, is now able to use his Breather while moving. He can constantly heal himself without having to stay in a single place. This makes him a mobile tank character. But perhaps the most controversial change on the game’s Public Test Realm is the rework on Mercy. The latter is no longer capable of resurrecting five comrades.
