The Steve Jobs Theater played host to Apple's biggest event this week -- the launch of its newest products. This theater space located in Apple Park theater hosted its first event since it was opened to the public. One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of the new Apple Watch Series 3.

Apple also celebrated the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone. Chief executive officer Tim Cook said he is honored to welcome people to the Steve Jobs Theater in the company's historic moment, saying that Jobs, the former Apple CEO, “was a genius.”

The new Apple Watch Series 3 has features that mimic some of the real qualities of the iPhone.

It is the same size as the previous Series 2 watch, and users can upgrade to the latest unit using the same number they use on their iPhones, the company noted.

“Answer a call from your surfboard. Ask Siri to send a message. Stream your favorite songs on your run. And do it all while leaving your phone behind,” Apple stated on the official website. “Introducing Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular. Now you have the freedom to go with just your watch.”

World’s number one

According to Apple CEO Cook, the Apple Watch still is the number one watch worldwide, topping the rest of the brands that are in the market. During the launch event, chief operating officer Jeff Williams said there would be new features to the Apple Watch, such as the adding new parameters to the heart-rate readings and recovery heart rate.

The Series 3 Apple Watch will let users stream millions of songs to the gadget. This is made possible with the power-efficient and speaking support from Siri. It houses a dual-core processor that can let users perform their functions more efficiently, Apple said in the official profile page of the product.

More functions for workout

The Series 3 watch also introduces new features that can help users during exercise sessions and workouts. It provides reminders on drinking water, health information, fitness data and sleep patterns.

The company also made improvements to the Siri feature on the watch, making it possible to become a person’s “all-day assistant,” the official website said.

Siri can now play their favorite albums, send directions to restaurants and access valuable information just with the use of the Apple Watch.

The company also partnered with major brands such as Nike and Hermes for a more stylish look of the gadget. Aside from the watch, the other new products launched on September 12 were the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
