We're halfway through 2017 and the tech world is just beginning to amaze us. This August, Samsung is about to release the much-awaited Galaxy Note 8, expected to be massive both in features and physical appearance. Known to have a larger display than Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, expect something that is indeed "massive" in the future. Unfortunately, the exact screen size has not yet been revealed, but to give you an idea of how it may look like, the Samsung S8 Plus has a 6.2-inch screen display; the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be bigger.

Latest news, updates, and rumors

Meanwhile, a leaked information about the Note 8 reveals that it may carry the Smart Zoom feature. According to the Android Headlines, this feature allows the model to have three times optical zoom that literally makes the phone's camera top of the line. The Refocus feature, on the hand, is a module that allows the device to focus on two points with ease. This gives us the idea that the all new model is designed to have better camera capability.

Slated to launch on August 23, 2017, the Galaxy Note 8 will have to compete against upcoming brands like Apple's iPhone 8 and the recently announced Huawei's The Mate 10. Nevertheless, Samsung is releasing the model ahead of the two brands, giving them the advantage of introducing the new flagship phone to consumers.

According to India Today, the phones will be shipped to the US, UK, and South Korea in September, whereas other regions will expect it the following month.

Details of the new Galaxy X model

In other news, it looks like the rumored foldable Galaxy X is taking shape after it recently cleared a Bluetooth certification, Gizbot reports.

The application of the trademark was done at the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information, carrying the model number SM-G888N0. With few details surrounding the foldable phone such as the unit carrying the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, the news reveals that there will be two variants coming.

Under the X series, the first variant will be the Samsung Galaxy X, while the other one is samsung galaxy X1, currently codenamed as "Project Valley." These variants are expected to arrive in early 2018 with a limited number of stocks, possibly 10,000 units upon introduction.

Samsung, on the other hand, has not deliberated on the "foldable" feature of the phone, giving us a little information on how it will look like.

As mentioned, should Samsung release the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy X this year, Apple may find a steep competition ahead of its anniversary celebration and the release of the all new iPhone 8? Samsung has yet to announce the date when consumers can start to pre-order the Note 8 online.
