Jerry goes on an adventure with his father-in-law when “Rick and Morty” season 3 returns with Episode 5, “The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy.” The episode takes place after Beth and Jerry's divorce, and the latter has moved out of the house to stay in a motel. Below we have some details on what happens when the mad scientist takes his son-in-law to an adventure that he sure will never forget.

Adult Swim has released a teaser trailer for Episode 5, which opens with the titular character breaking into his son-in-law’s motel room.
The mad scientist forces Jerry to accompany him on an important intergalactic adventure. He practically drags the naked Jerry off his bed and tells him that the fate of the galaxy rests on his shoulders. It is a wonder what makes this adventure so important that Rick wastes no time in leaving. He even suggests that he makes pants for Jerry on their way to whichever planet they are off to.
In another scene, while inside the jet, Jerry asks his father-in-law if his son Morty had asked his grandfather to take him on a kiddie ride. He initially thought he was off to an execution.
Fun times with Jerry
It seems the scientist only wants to have some fun with his son-in-law if the previous trailer for Season 3 is any indication.
We see the pair perhaps at an amusement park, and Rick looks like he is having a blast with Jerry (see video below at the 0:33 and 1:12 mark). It seems they are on a planet occupied by furry animals looking at the other riders behind them. The planet also appears high-tech and fancy.
Likewise, it is not safe wherever they are.
Jerry, on the other hand, does not look like he is having fun. He appears terrified at some point when he sees what appears to be a giant creature with mouth resembling petals ran towards him. Jerry appears defenseless and helpless as he yells at the approaching creature while glued to his chair inside Rick’s jet. It is safe to assume that Rick arrives in time to save his clueless son-in-law, as we see Jerry get splashed with green slime at the 1:18 mark in the video.
Synopsis for “Rick and Morty” Season 3 Episode 5
The synopsis for “The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy” does not align with the teaser trailer. According to Heavy, the summary focuses on Beth failing as a mother. It also talks about Summer having body issues. Perhaps this is when she turns into a giant as seen in the Season 3 trailer. There is no mention of it being a Rick and Jerry adventure.
