God of War 4” is perhaps the biggest thing that happened at last year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The return of the titular protagonist Kratos has made every fan stoked, as they cannot wait to unravel the adventure that the game brings. Recently, developer Sony Santa Monica released new interesting details about the forthcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive game.

According to ComicBook, the studio behind “God of War 4” has revealed the kind of dynamic fighting the title introduces. They even went to say how this particular feature in the game will keep players’ interest stirred.

Here is everything about it in a nutshell.

The kind of dynamic fighting the game offers

Sony Santa Monica’s very own marketing producer named Aaron Kaufman shared how Atreus, Kratos’ son, can become a significant character in the battlefield. Kaufman said that the kid has a “cool move” that lets him jump on the enemy’s back and start firing arrows the moment players press the Square button on the console. He even explained that Kratos will then follow up by throwing his axe, the new weapon he uses in replacement of the famous Chaos of Blades.

Kaufman said that this is just one of the many “dynamisms” between the two “God of War 4” characters, one that is unique in the entire franchise. Clearly, the father-and-son relationship between Kratos and Atreus goes beyond the normal relationship.

They are not just there for the affection, but also for the willingness to survive. This alone is a complete deviation from what the series was originally known for. The developers, however, assured fans that the elements from the series are still present in the new game.

Kratos’ redemption

Sony Santa Monica has since explained that “God of War 4” will be about Kratos’ redemption following the killings he orchestrated in the previous three titles.

Comic Book mentioned that the studio explained that this redemption will not just be conveyed through the way the characters fight but also by the way Kratos changes because of Atreus. This relationship is what the fourth title wants to convey throughout the story line. Although Atreus is still a kid, his importance in the field is that of a warrior.

He helps Kratos not only by fighting, but also by translating texts and dialogues that are wrapped in Norse language.

God of War 4” is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and is slated to hit the shelves come 2018. Sony Santa Monica did not mention a specific release date, though.
