A lot of fans are frustrated after Bethesda revealed that “The Elder Scrolls 6” will not be out soon. It does not necessarily mean it is not happening, but the studio made clear that it is not in development. Obviously, there is a main reason why the studio opted with such a decision at the first place.

Many believe that the video game company will finally unleashedThe Elder Scrolls 6.” After all, it has been nearly six years since the fifth installment “Skyrim” came into existence. Given the length of years, it is only right for the community to think that it is about time for the developers to release a new iteration.

Alas, all the hype about the game has stopped, as no such title will be happening soon.

Game will still happen

Perhaps a consolation, Bethesda’s very own marketing executive Pete Hines confirmed that they still plan to release the game. But as far as the release date and development timeline are concerned, he is not able to provide any details. The reason behind this is actually quite simple: the developers just do not want to confine themselves with the two franchises, “Fallout” and “The Elder Scrolls,” just yet.

This basically means that the studio desires to work on other projects. Despite giving up the idea of releasing the highly anticipated game at an earlier timeline. Todd also explained that as a company, they respect the decisions of the people under their umbrella.

If they want to “self-determine” stuff, the studio supports them, regardless of the outcome.

Other viable reason behind the delay

Todd’s explanation is acceptable in way, though “The Elder Scrolls 6” fans have no choice really. Nevertheless, there are those who believe that Bethesda is still riding with the success of “Skyrim.” The latter is still actually reaping sales and, as a business entity, the company wants to take advantage of it.

The way to do it is to simply shift its focus not on a new installment, but on the current title acquiring success.

There are also players who suggest that the delay of “The Elder Scrolls 6” had something to do with Nintendo Switch. Interestingly, this still ties with the fifth title in the series, as it is confirmed to arrive to the said console.

Obviously, the video game company is trying to put all of its resources and focus on the joy-con version of “Skyrim.” Nevertheless, it is good to know that the developers still have plans on developing and releasing the sixth title soon.
