Nintendo Switch has brought the perfect storm in the video game industry, with more and more players buying the titular joy-con. Its success is relatively due to the outstanding titles it offers, one of which is “Arms.” This game may not be as huge as the likes of “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” or “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” but there is no doubt it is going to be a huge hit.

Arms” is the newest IP to be released on Nintendo Switch, but its arrival did not really top the aforementioned games. Unlike the successful ones, this new game only managed to capture a meta critic score of 77.

It is definitely behind compared to “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s” 92 and “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s” 97. Nevertheless, there is no reason not to believe that this new game will reach greater heights in the platform.

What the game is all about

The title is basically a product of “Splatoon’s” tradition. The latter is Nintendo’s very own take on the case fighting genre. In the new game, players can pick other players to work as their fighters. Each of them are given a small option of weapons, something that can be equipped on both the left and right arms (hence the title). They even have the freedom to play the game with either a motion control or not. Although the former is much advisable, playing the game using the joy-con still enjoyable on its own.

So far, reviews have been very fair to “Arms,” most especially its gameplay on Nintendo Switch. It is a fun game that offers a unique gameplay experience. While it does not have the racing feeling “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” offers, it has its own way of pumping the players up. Apparently though, one cannot deny that it does not have the knock for introducing the very elements of a traditional fighting title.

Its secret is its ease of play

Based on what is happening within the Nintendo Switch community, it is safe to say that multiplayer titles have gained the upper hand. Take for example “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” it is a full-fledged multiplayer game with captivating gameplay experience. Hence following the release, it quickly acquired a huge following.

Arms,” on the other hand, might not be as good as the said title. However, the ease of play it offers, considering it is a fighting-themed title, makes it triumphant in one way or another. Sure, it may not have the potentials of becoming a marketable eSports game, playing it is still relatively comfortable. It explains itself to players in a matter of second. In a video game world where in-game technicalities have become a thing, experience a game that eases gameplay is definitely something worth trying.
