Dennis Rodman made his way to Singapore to show his support for the summit between President Trump and Kim Jong-un. There is also an unexpected friendship between the North Korean leader and the famous basketball star. According to Fox, this friendship developed over the course of numerous visits to Pyongyang and a mutual love of Basketball.

The former famous NBA player made his way to Singapore

The former basketball player has a special relationship with Donald Trump as well, due to being on the show “Celebrity Apprentice.” Dennis Rodman showed up to the interview with CNN wearing the famous Trump hat that reads Make America Great Again and a shirt that said, Peace Starts In Singapore (sponsored by PotCoin). Midway through though, he burst into in tears. Rodman shared that he was informed about the summit through a phone call from Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary. Fox also claimed that Dennis Rodman was complimented by the president and that Donald Trump was glad regarding Dennis’ participation.

Fox News also details the emotional experience Dennis Rodman went through while trying to talk to Obama about peace with Kim Jong-un. The basketball star told CNN during an interview that “Obama failed to take him seriously” and during this time, he had received many death threats and ended up going into hiding. While the White House officials informed the press that Dennis Rodman will not have an official role when it comes to the negotiations that will take place, it is clear his place has made history. Dennis Rodman is one of the few people alive who met both Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump while also being the only American who met Kim Jong-un, until recently.

Regardless of the surprise of his appearance in Singapore for this historic event, it is hard for anyone to try to criticize Dennis Rodman for wanting peace between nations.

The credit is given to Donald Trump

“Donald Trump should take a lot of credit because he went out of the box and made this happen. If Trump can pull this off, more power to him” Dennis informed CNN during his interview. Trump has claimed, so far, that the meeting was a success, but critics have questions concerning the war games and other military operations that involve South Korea. Rodman tells Fox that Kim Jong-un is “like a big kid,” but at the same time, his honor and people are his main concern of protection. Politics are never brought up between Rodman and Kim Jong-un, but the love of basketball has been discussed. Kim Jong-un has told Dennis Rodman “I don’t want war,” according to an interview which was held in December 2017 on “The Late Show.”
