Launched last year in 2016, Google Pixel smartphone sports a stunning screen, fast processor, top-notch camera and a ridiculously high Price Tag. Just like its predecessor, the much-talked about Google Pixel 2 is reportedly said to be very expensive (expect at least a $50 increase in the price tag from the last one).
Since the past couple of months, various reports have come in revealing tidbits on the next-generation Google smartphone range.
Release date
Rumored to be releasing in three different variants – Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, and Pixel XXL – the Pixel 2 range is said to be already in development.
Reportedly, these models are codenamed as Walleye, Muskie, and Taimen, respectively. They are named in line with the Google's pattern of naming their devices after fish names. The Pixel and Pixel Xl were named Sailfish and Marlin, respectively, while they were in the making.
Also, as per the latest reports, the next-generation smartphone could arrive earlier than expected and details could be revealed during Google I/O 2017 to be held in May. Further, Google could reportedly launch the successor by October 2017.
Display and processor
While not much is known at this point of time, however, reports swirling in the tech media world suggest that all the three devices could launch powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 835 processor.
Said to be manufactured by HTC, similar to the Pixel and Pixel XL, the Pixel 2 XXL is expected to boast a bigger display to give a stiff competition to Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6.2-inch viewing experience.
Design
Further, rumors are also rife that Google Pixel 2 range will come with curved sides, waterproof design and they might ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.
One can also expect a 6GB RAM and the latest Android O operating system to boost the QHD resolution VR experience.
Camera
Google Pixel smartphones were already in news last year for their spectacular camera specs, so it won't be a surprise to see the latest Pixel range to sport beefier camera specs – which could be more than 12.3MP camera sensor – compensated with extra upgraded features.
Hardware upgrade
If industry experts are to be believed, the Google Pixel 2 range could come with a gamut of hardware improvements as compared to the predecessor, including additional memory and storage.
Looks like the upcoming Pixel 2/XL/XXL have all the reasons to be excited about if only Google prices it correctly. Are you thrilled about the upcoming phones? Let us know in the comments section below and stay tuned to Blasting News for more updates on the yet-to-launched Google flagship.
