The Sheer Beauty that is the Samsung Galaxy S8
Samsung's new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8 was the most anticipated Android smartphone of 2017 and now that it has arrived, we can see why. S8 is a beautiful phone with a design that is bound to attract anyone. Samsung attributes the phone's good looks to the new design which they are calling the Infinity Display. By using this new design, Samsung was able to produce a phone with minimum bezels on the top and bottom of the phone and a screen that spills over the edges beautifully. Unlike its predecessors S6 Edge and S7 Edge, the S8 doesn't include the term 'Edge' which might mean that all Galaxy S devices will now have a curved screen that spills over the edges.
The Samsung S8 is very thin, having a 0.31 inch thickness and featuring a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED screen. The back of the phone features a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which adds to the phone's premium look. If there is one thing that customers may not like about the design of the S8 is the placement of the Fingerprint Scanner which has been placed right next to the camera lens on the back. Samsung had to make this adjustment in order to minimize the bezels on the S8. However, they've added the Iris Scanner which allows you to unlock your phone really fast and provides enhanced security as well.
The phone is lightweight, weighing only 155 g despite the large screen size. S8 packs a 3000 mAh Lithium-Ion non-removable battery which will easily last you a day with normal usage.
The Software Side is Just as Impressive
The specification sheet of the S8 in terms of its performance is just as impressive as the looks of the phone. The U.S model of the Samsung S8 is rocking the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 540 GPU. The S8 is the first Android phone to use the SD 835.
The phone comes with 4 GB of RAM with an internal storage of 64 GB.
Both the single-sim as well as dual-sim models allow the users to upgrade storage up to 256 GB which is always a welcomed feature.
S8's camera is top-notch, producing beautiful and vivid pictures in low-light and normal light. The primary camera is 12 megapixels where as the front-facing is 8 MP. You can also shoot 4k videos with your S8.
Adding to the list of awesome features, the S8 is water and dust proof protected with an IP68 rating. Another interesting new feature of the S8 is the Bixby which gives you the experience of having your own personal assistant. Bixby is amazing because it isn't reliant on you having to communicate with it via your voice only. You can open the camera application and simply show Bixby what you are looking for and it will work its wonder.
The Price being the only Downside to this Beast of a Device
The Samsung S8 is a very expensive phone with a price of $1035 as listed on Samsung's website. The phone comes in five variety of colors: Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue and Maple Gold.
Despite the high-price, many people will jump at the opportunity to buy the samsung galaxy S8 because it's the most beautiful phone in the market at the moment with an outstanding performance. After the debacle of Samsung's Note 7 last year, the company is hoping the S8 and S8+ will more than cover up for the loss of revenue as well as reputation.
