Even the most popular athletes, and one of the best in the world, LeBron James, for example, have to face hateful criticism in their lives. LeBron James recently gave support to women of color on his Instagram page but was called racist for it in return. LeBron James is adjusting to life in Los Angeles after signing with the team about a month ago. James surely plans on taking the team to new heights and competing at the highest level in the competitive Western Conference. On another note, something happened on social media and that post led to a lot of responses from users on Instagram.

The hate

One of the most influential athletes ever gave praise to women of color recently on Instagram. In return, he was called racist for the action by users of the site. He gave support to many positive role models, including Beyonce, who was on the cover of the magazine he posted. An article by Yahoo! notes that other cover stars Issa Rae, Tiffany Haddish, and the cast of "Pose." The caption reads, "Nothing in this world is more POWERFUL than Colored women!! Thank you all for continuing to not settle and setting examples in life for so many looking up to you for inspiration/ guidance and love!! My daughter is watching![sic]"

LeBron James is all about the family, as he supports all his kids in basketball and his daughter.

LeBron has also felt some hate, in addition, from President Donald Trump, where he attacked LeBron on Twitter. Many star NBA players, like Karl-Anthony Towns and Bradley Beal, supported The King with responses.

Nothing about the remarks LeBron stated were racist, however, that did not stop others on Instagram from calling him racist or calling him out for his post.

Another Instagram user Yahoo! notes, wrote: "Sounds racist to me, Shut up and dribble, LeBron." Another Instagram user wrote; "What about white women?"

The I Promise school

LeBron James has done a lot of good for the community ad he recently created a school for at-risk children in Akron, with many incentives for graduating.

It is fair to say that The King has been quite busy and he has been showing up to his son's games to support him. A heckler was calling out his son until he broke the defender's ankles, but the game was canceled due to the increased shouting and troublesome people.

LeBron James is very busy and has not responded to any of the Instagram users. It is clear to see that LeBron was not being racist with his post, but was giving support to women of color for being on the cover of a magazine for September.

James will be looking to change things with his new Lakers team, alongside a cast of characters that includes Michael Beasley, Lance Stephenson, and Rajon Rondo. Youngsters Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, and Lonzo Ball are also on the roster.

It will be a challenge for James, now that he is in the Western Conference, with teams like the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, and Oklahoma City Thunder. King James will surely embrace the challenge.
