With the offseason ending it seems like the free agency has slowed down ever since the Carmelo Anthony trade. With both Kyrie Irving and Carmelo traded the biggest untold story now heading into the NBA preseason is where Dwyane Wade and now that he and the Bulls have officially agreed on a buyout. Here are a couple of more updates on the NBA scene:
Will Wade come back home or have one more title hunt?
The Chicago Bulls and Dwyane Wade have agreed on a buyout with Wade returning leaving about eight million dollars on the table.
Now that it has been finalized the question remains where Wade will land this upcoming season. Adrian Wojnarowski of NBA ESPN has reported that Wade could either join the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, or the Oklahoma City Thunder this offseason. Wade will turn 36 this January and he will be entering his 15th season in the NBA. His minutes and scoring have gone down with his age going up, but despite this, he still averaged 29 minutes a game last season (career low). Last season he averaged 18.3 points, 0.7 blocks, 1.4 steals, 3.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. Wade also shot 43.4 percent from the field, 31 percent from beyond the arc, and 79.4 percent from the charity stripe.
Could Wade join Popovich or Melo?
Dwyane Wade is a very close of friend of Carmelo and it seems like Wade and George spent a lot of time this offseason in the gym according to Adrian Wojnarowski of NBA ESPN. With the Oklahoma City Thunder now looking like a new super team with Melo and Russell Westbrook, it is a very plausible option for Wade if he chooses to try to pursue another championship ring. Wade can also join one of the best sports organizations in the world, the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs have always been known to be a world-class team with a world class coach in Gregg Popovich. The Spurs are very good at taking care of their older players like Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Pau Gasol.
Whether he moves to the West and joins either the Spurs or OKC, it seems pretty likely that he will make the playoffs next season.
Should Wade reunite with LeBron James?
If Wade chooses to stay in the East, rather than transferring to the very tough Western Conference, then he can either decide to come back home to Miami or join his best friend LeBron James in Cleveland. LeBron said in an interview today via NBA TNT that he badly wants Wade to join Cleveland this offseason. He, later on, said that he will talk to Wade but ultimately it all comes down to the Cavs front office and on Dwyane Wade himself.
