The NBA regular season is now weeks away as teams are formally starting their training camps. This offseason a number of players worked in their body and conditioning like Julius Randle and Chandler Parsons. While other players waited what team they will be traded to like Carmelo Anthony and Kyrie Irving. Parsons in an interview with ESPN said he is ready for this season and he feels really good about his body. ESPN also reported that before Carmelo went to Oklahoma the Knicks offered him to the Cavaliers for Tristan Thompson.
Parsons dedicated his entire summer for his body
In an interview with Tim Macmahon of NBA ESPN, Chandler Parsons opened up about how he felt last season, how he feels now, and about the negative comments and judgments he has received last season. Ever since Parsons signed a 94 million dollar max contract with the Memphis Grizzlies he only played a total of 34 games due to his injuries.
He admitted that there were moments last year where he felt he was judged due to his max contract and being injured. He added that physically last year he just was not there, he was not as athletic, and not as fast in his moves. He, later on, said that this time he feels much better than last year. He dedicated this entire offseason on his body by working out five times a week, playing 5v5, 4v4, 3v3, 2v2, and one on one.
He closed the interview by saying that he was ready and excited for next season and is ready to show just how good he is.
Parsons entered the NBA in the offseason of 2011 where he was drafted by the Houston Rockets with the 38th overall pick. He shined in Houston while playing alongside prolific scorer James Harden. When he was traded to Dallas in 2016 he underwent a successful surgery to address the torn meniscus in his right knee.
The year after despite the injury the Memphis Grizzlies gave him a 94 million max contract.
Knicks sought Tristan Thompson from Cleveland
A few days ago we saw Carmelo Anthony traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Enes Kanter and Doug McDermott. Before the trade was finalized, the Knicks also offered a trade deal to the Cleveland for Tristan Thompson.
Dave Mcmenamin of NBA ESPN has reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers rejected the trade offer and said that they will only give Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye for Carmelo Anthony. When LeBron James was asked about this on media day he said that he knew about it but ultimately he was still happy and excited for next season with Dwyane Wade coming to Cleveland.
