Former NBA Laker Dereck Fisher has been arrested for DUI. The arrest occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday morning after Fisher crashed his car on the Ventura 101 Freeway in West Hollywood. TMZ reports the former baller had been returning from at night out at the West Hollywood hotspot Catch when he flipped his car as he was driving northbound on the freeway. Traveling with Fisher at the time of his accident was former "Basketball Wives" cast member Gloria Govan.
The second athlete in less than a week busted for DUI.
Thankfully no one was injured during the crash. California Highway Patrol reports reveal that Fisher veered his car into the right shoulder of the 101' concrete paved embankment and guardrail resulting in overturning his automobile. The car finally came to rest on its roof while the freeway blocking two lanes of traffic. Officers on arrived on the scene, conducted a series of field sobriety tests which Fisher failed.

He was placed under arrest and taken to the local jail.The celebrity news site reports that they spotted Derek Fisher on Saturday evening leaving Catch around 11:45 PM, however, the car crash took place three- hours later.
Fisher retired as from the NBA player in 2014 and immediately joined the Knicks staff as their head coach. Dereck was let go in the midst of his second season after losing 9 of his previous 10 games. He's been as a sports analyst for TNT as well as for Spectrum SportsNet's Lakers coverage this season. Fisher spent two decades in the NBA with 13 of the years with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Fisher is the second professional athlete to be arrested on DUI charges in the past week. As previously reported pro golfer Tiger Woods was arrested last week on DUI charges. Woods was arrested eight miles from his Jupiter, Florida home after police officers found Tiger sleeping in his Mercedes.
Woods' car was reported to have been in bad shape at the time of his arrest consisting of two flat tires, a broken taillight, and a mangled bumper.
Tiger has since come forward apologizing for his conduct, but, however, revealing that alcohol was not a factor in his DUI arrest. Woods claims he had a bad reaction to his prescription drug medication which consisted of, Solarex, Vicodin, Torix, and Vioxx, two of which are described as anti-inflammatory medications.
Tiger Woods is due to face the judge in July, at this time it is not known when Dereck Fisher will be expected in court. It has been a bad week or so for professional athletes. What are your thoughts on Dereck Fisher's DUI arrest?
