The Boston Celtics win the number one overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. In last year's draft, the Philadelphia 76ers were able to score the most talented player in the draft in Ben Simmons. This year the Boston Celtics will enjoy the luxury of picking first as a courtesy of a trade deal with the Brooklyn Nets a few seasons ago.

Now the Celtics who are already in this season's conference finals round of the playoffs will add another outstanding talent beside its talented young core.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics will do what the Detroit Pistons could have done back in the 2003 NBA Draft, and that's draft a guaranteed superstar talent to add to an already championship caliber team.

Freshman point guard from the University of Washington Markelle Fultz has been projected to be the number one overall pick in this year's draft. If Boston were able to add him alongside Isaiah Thomas, the Celtics would instantly be in the discussion for best backcourt in the league.

However, with a talented guard in Avery Bradley that already plays alongside Thomas, how would the Celtics be able to manage that?

Freshman small forward Josh Jackson from Kansas University could be a better fit considering Jae Crowder can be the starting power forward.

The NBA Draft has shown in the past that teams will draft according to needs. So it will be interesting to see what the Celtics will do come this June for the 2017 NBA draft with their number one pick.

Los Angeles Lakers

Magic Johnson could do nothing but smile knowing that his Los Angeles Lakers will be receiving the number two overall pick this season that they so desperately need. The Lakers are another team that has many young talented pieces but needs another young star to give the team the best shot at being a contender.

Lonzo Ball seems like the perfect fit for the Lakers franchise.

With all the hype surrounding him and plenty of help from his father Lavar, it seems only right for Lonzo to stay put in Los Angeles where he played college ball at UCLA. If Ball can play at the high level, he's expected in a market like L.A., those $450 sneakers will be selling off the shelves in no time.

Philadelphia 76ers

Joel Embiid was hoping his Philadelphia 76ers could luck up and possibly receive two top five picks if the L.A. Lakers were not able to draw a top-three selection. However, the Sixers had to settle for the number three pick instead. Considering what the Boston Celtics already have to offer, the 76ers could still wound up picking up Ball or Fultz.

With arguably the best young frontcourt in the NBA, Philly needs a star guard who can score the basketball well to compliment its big guys.

In a draft that is filled with many talented guards, the Philadelphia 76ers will get that piece they've been searching for that will ultimately have Philly fans trusting the process for many years to come.
