The WWE "Money In The Bank" 2017 pay-per-view arrives several months from now, but many fans are already speculating on who will compete in the big ladder match and who will grab that briefcase hanging over the ring. As of right now, all that is known is that the PPV will be a "SmackDown Live" exclusive event. That means it should only feature stars from the "blue brand" competing for the "MITB" briefcase which contains a coveted title match contract. The owner of that briefcase and contract can cash in for a WWE title match at any time or place of their choosing.

So who might compete, and who is the likely winner?

The 'MITB' contenders

For 2017, the "SmackDown" roster has a good variety of superstars who would make a great "Money in the Bank" ladder match. Several of these stars have yet to compete in this match with WWE. Some of those who have competed in the match include John Cena, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, and current WWE Champion Randy Orton.

Some of the stars who are on the roster but have yet to participate in this style of match for the PPV are "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, Tye Dillinger, Shinsuke Nakamura, and "The Lone Wolf" Baron Corbin. All of these competitors would make great additions to this high-flying and action-packed match.

Who will win the briefcase?

Previous WWE superstars who have won the famous "Money in the Bank" briefcase include Dolph Ziggler, Edge, CM Punk, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Damien Sandow, and John Cena. Most of those wrestling stars were able to cash in the briefcase and win the championship belt, with the exception of the latter two.

Sandow and Cena are the only two superstars who failed to make good on their "MITB" cash-ins.

As for this year's winner, there is one name who has been leading most predictions lists, as well as betting odds. "The Lone Wolf" Baron Corbin currently tops the list of stars most likely to reach up and pull down that highly-coveted briefcase.

That could mean that Corbin will also become WWE World Champion sometime after he yanks down that briefcase from above the ring.

There have been ongoing rumors that Corbin will take on Randy Orton at a future event. It's unknown which event that might be, as briefcase cash-in moments have generally happened on television shows, but can occasionally shock fans during pay-per-views. Dean Ambrose, who was last year's "MITB" briefcase winner, cashed in that same night. Ambrose defeated his former Shield brother Seth Rollins just moments after Rollins defeated their other former Shield teammate Roman Reigns for the title in the PPV main event.

WWE fans, which superstar from "SmackDown" do you think will win this year's "MITB" ladder match: Baron Corbin or someone else?
