Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic were teammates for a year and a half, before Wade decided to go to his hometown and join the Chicago Bulls. Dragic was acquired by the Miami Heat in February 2015 in one of the biggest trades that season. It took some time for this duo to learn how to play together and coexist on the court, and the Heat missed the playoffs as a consequence of it.

However, just a season after, the Miami Heat finished third in the East and they were one of the best teams in the NBA. Dwyane Wade, Goran Dragic and rest of the team played incredibly well, and after securing home-court advantage in the first round, they beat the Charlotte Hornets and took the Toronto Raptors to seven games in the second round.

Unfortunately, they ran out of gas as the Raptors beat them, but they showed a lot of fight and were just a game away from the conference finals.

Dragic and Wade kept in touch after they took separate ways

Even though they are no longer teammates, Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade stayed in touch with each other. Just recently, Dragic injured his eye and was not able to play for one game. According to him, Wade texted him to see how he is doing after that happened. Dragic did the same thing when Wade suffered the elbow injury against the Memphis Grizzlies, as he touched base with his former teammate and checked how bad his injury is.

They played together for a relatively short period, but they have become good friends.

As Dragic recently said, he was rooting for Wade and he also called him his brother.

Dwyane Wade will probably return to Miami, but it may not happen soon

Wade spent 13 years playing in Miami and it is hard to believe that he will not return to the Heat at one point. He accomplished a lot in South Beach and it is Miami where he became a superstar and one of the best NBA players.

In return, Wade helped the Heat win three championships, turning them into one of the best franchises in the league.

Goran Dragic hopes that Dwyane Wade will return to the Miami Heat and retire there.

Heat fans would also love to see the comeback of the greatest player in franchise history, as that would be amazing and would bring joy to the city of Miami. However, it is up to Wade to decide what will be his next move. He has a player option on his contract with the Chicago Bulls for the next season, so it might take more than a year for him to return to Miami.
