Netflix streamed a new trailer for "Daredevil" Season 3 at this year's New York Comic-Con event as fans in attendance and viewers watching at home witness Matt Murdock's return to Hell's Kitchen after the events of "The Defenders" mini-series. However, his comeback will be met with disaster as Wilson Fisk (The Kingpin) gets out of prison and starts to make his life a living hell, both professional and personal.
Matt will also deal with an assassin who is impersonating his alter-ego, Daredevil.
Cast member Deborah Ann Woll teased Karen Page's backstory in the season finale and how this will affect her character's growth along the way.
New York Comic-Con trailer
The season 3 trailer starts with Matt Murdock hanging around on top of a church cross wearing a new version of his season 1 black suit as he narrates how he wanted to help people against the darkness of Hell's Kitchen, but realizes that he must become what he hates to stop it.
The video also sees Wilson Fisk making a deal with the FBI for his cooperation on stopping crime in the city in exchange for his freedom.
The reason for this is that he found out that his fiancee, Vanessa, is being implicated for his crimes and wants to save her. This also presents an opportunity for him to get revenge on Daredevil, Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson for putting him in jail.
Fisk puts his plans in fruition as he hired an assassin to impersonate Daredevil and cause several crimes throughout Hell's Kitchen. Fisk finds out about Matt's alter-ego and is forced to fight the FBI. The trailer ends with Matt confronting his imposter after he tried to kill Karen and Foggy.
io9 reported that Netflix officially confirmed that the Daredevil imposter none other than Bullseye played by "The Young and The Restless" star Wilson Bethel.
His civilian name is "Benjamin Pointdexter" who is actually one of the cover names he uses in the comics.
Deborah Ann Woll on Karen Page
"True Blood" star Deborah Ann Woll revealed more details about her character, Karen Page, in the upcoming season as she told Screen Rant that the third season will feature more investigative reporting while they dive into her past before the events of the first season.
"I think for me the most fun has been that we really start to open up Karen’s past and a lot of the mysteries, the hints that have been dropped and really filled those in," Woll told Screen Rant.
It is hinted that her past may be uncovered in the season finale. Karen will also put her life in more danger as her investigation leads her to be a target of Kingpin's assassin in the show.
The third season of "Daredevil" will premiere on October 19 on Netflix.
