The estranged couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have called a truce and ended their bitter feud for the sake of their kids. The couple has reportedly reached an agreement over the custody of their kids. According to a report in The Sun, the actress who was once judged the most desirable woman in the world has tempered down and was seeking a peaceful end to the bitter divorce battle.
News.com quotes a source as saying, “Angelina is enjoying the last few days of summer before school starts. She is helping the children heal with their father.”
Court Battle for custody of kids
Bradd Pitt and Angelina Jolie were married for two years after an extended period of courtship for ten years. They were considered one of the most glamorous couples of all times. The couple has six children, and today both are engaged in an intense court battle seeking primary custody of the children.
However, E!News quoting a close source reported that the new custody arrangement news is false and the original court statement remains in place.
The couple was to meet on August 21 to hammer out a deal, but the meeting has since been postponed.
Long Court Battle
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016 mentioning irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split. Shortly afterward the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI started investigating reports of an altercation between Bradd Pitt and his eldest son Maddox.
The incident happened aboard the couple’s private plane. Bradd has been exonerated from all charges. However, Maddox has been given a choice to determine the time he will spend with his father.
Matter takes an ugly turn
Earlier Jo had asked the court for sole custody of the children.
However, Bradd filed a petition for joint custody. In December a temporary arrangement was made which allowed Jo to keep the custody of the kids and Bradd had visitation rights. The case took an ugly turn when Bradd asked the Judge to seal records surrounding the kids contending that his ex and her lawyers have compromised his kid’s privacy.
On March 10, 2002, Jolie had adopted her first child, seven-month-old Maddox Chivan, from an orphanage in Battambang. Jolie and Pitt traveled to Namibia for the birth of their first biological child.
