Rick and Morty,” the adult show is still in a state of flux, and there is not much news about when the fourth edition will start. Right after the conclusion of the third edition, there were talks that there will be the fourth edition but no time frame was forthcoming.

Co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland had in March 2018 said that they have not started penning the new episodes for the fourth season. One of the reasons for the delay could be attributed to the complex negotiations as compared to the earlier episodes.

Harmon recently said to Emmys.com that they wanted an assurance that the contract will also include future episodes so that he can solely dedicate himself to writing the next chapters.

Right now his time is devoted between writing for the popular adult series as well as other projects. In an interview with Detroit Cast, he confirmed that yet there is no script for the next season.

'Rick and Morty' to be different

However, co-creator Dan Harmon did say that the next season of the series will be a wee bit different from the earlier series. Describing the series something which rejects all social norms and therefore cares must be taken to prevent offense and not going off the board. In other words, the series needs to be carefully and painstakingly written.

It is not clear what Harmon meant by the above statement and how the series will appear in future. Both Harmon and Roiland have diagrammatically contrasting writing styles.

While Harmon remains focused on the structure and his writing style is his signature, he sometimes does lean on his co-creator Justin Roiland and his peculiar form allowing himself to stay aloof for varying periods.

Series co-creator Justin Roiland did reveal that 70 more episodes could be in the pipeline. This means that going by last season’s ten episodes this time it could be seven more seasons of 'the show.

So it is sure that we could have the brilliant sociopathic scientist who pulls his intrinsically timorous grandson on maverick and dangerous adventures across the universe.

The show revolves around the lives of the Smith household, which consists of parents Jerry and Beth, children Summer and Morty, and Beth's father, Rick Sanchez, who lives as a guest.

Writer Ryan Ridley has hinted that he does not expect the next season to air any sooner than late 2019.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the new season to start.
