Celeb Dirty Laundry and Soaps She Knows are both confirming that Mishael Morgan will no longer be portraying Hilary Curtis on "The Young and the Restless." Negotiations on a new contract were not successful, and the character is not being re-cast. It's not certain what the fate will be of Hilary and her unborn child but spoilers say her exit will be a tragic one and leave Devon devastated.

Fans were hoping the rumors were not true as Ms. Morgan had become a major player in Genoa City. CDL suggests that the powers that b,e did not believe the actress worthy of more money, so now the entire landscape will change for the Hamilton/Winters family.

Hurricane Hilary took Genoa City by storm

In five years, "The Young and the Restless" developed the character of Hilary Curtis and made her a power player in Genoa City. She became best friends with Phyllis, a confidante to Jack and was not afraid to take on the Newman family and air their dirty laundry on her TV show. Her spats with Lily are epic and keep the edge going in the family dynamic.

Her relationships with Neila and Devon made for great drama andHurricane Hilary was finally getting her dream of her man and a baby. Now all of that is changing because allegedly the powers that be did not believe the actress worthy of a raise.

Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that "Daytime Confidential" has confirmed that Morgan has indeed left the show due to the inability to negotiate a new contract. The spoiler also points out that this does not necessarily need to be the end for the popular actress. It was noted that fans protests have at times in the past caused the powers that be to change decisions and bring characters back. Hilary certainly brings much to the table and adds spice to the show.

It is disappointing that the "Y&R" executives did not value her worthy of more money.

Mishael Morgan will be missed on 'Y&R'

Some characters on "The Young and the Restless" are underdeveloped, as was Nick and Sharon's son Noah. He simply faded into the woodwork and left without much fanfare. Others like Kevin and Hilary have grown on the viewers and have been given storylines that are intriguing and keep fans coming back for more. Summer Newman was just brought back to Genoa City and she seems in rare form. Perhaps her antics may distract somewhat from the absence of Ms. Curtis, but this will not help Devon's situation.

Hilary is supposed to have a tragic exit, which means that she and/or her baby could die.

This would leave Devon once again sad and single. Stay tuned to "Y&R" weekday afternoons at 12:30 PM ET on CBS. Soaps She Knows says there is no final airdate for Mishael Morgan, so be on the lookout for additional spoilers as they come in.
