Hugh's death was announced by the Inner City Cultural Center who posted a message on Facebook and paid tribute to the actor. Dane's storied career was launched in the 1980s when he lent his voice to the video game "It Came From the Desert." Dane then began appearing on television shows, starting with "Hunter," and then "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," and "Roc." His most memorable role among fans was Hank on "The Office." He also appeared on "Friends," "Monk," "Boy Meets World," and "The West Wing."

Hugh Dane's fellow co-stars from "The Office" took to Twitter to pay tribute to the respected actor.

Rainn Wilson sent out a tweet, praising Dane and included the clip of Rainn's character becoming a part of the building's security team. Dane was described as funny, talented and kind. Wilson encouraged his followers to give in honor of Dane to the Inner City Cultural Center.

Steve Carrell also honored Dane and his personality. Along with Wilson and Carrell, Mindy Kaling called Dane one of the funniest actors alive. Kaling also said she loved working with him, both as a writer and actor.

Andy Buckley, who also starred on "The Office," said Dane was a lovely man.

Over the years Hugh Dane has gained a massive following and because of that, his fans have offered their condolences to his family via Twitter. There was even one fan on Twitter who said he was one of the most undervalued characters on "The Office." He even called the character funny, even while being a serious character.

One fan praised Hugh Dane and said he was one of "The Office" fans who was dying to see a "The Office," revival but didn't believe anyone could be as good as Dane was at portraying Hank the security guard.

With respect to the family, a cause of death has not been made public. The Inner City Cultural Center encourages Dane's fans to make a donation in the name of Hugh Dane.

The Irish Mirror reported that a funeral was set for June 9, on Saturday, at California's Vision Theatre. Hugh Dane's family has invited friends and supporters to come to the funeral to pay their respects and to share their favorite memories of him as an actor and family man.
