Jenelle Evans' role on "Teen Mom 2" is reportedly in jeopardy after the reality star and mother of three opted out of production on the season 8B reunion special over the weekend. While MTV has not yet confirmed any plans to cut ties with Evans quite yet, rumor has it that she's on the verge of getting cut just months after the network fired her husband, David Eason.
Evans “remains on very, very thin ice with MTV and could be fired from the show,” an insider explained to Us Weekly on May 23.
As the outlet explained, Evans was supposed to be in New York City to film the season 8B reunion episodes on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and May 20, but she didn't show up.
Could David Eason appear on the 'Teen Mom 2' Season 8B Reunion?
Because Jenelle Evans wasn't present during filming over the weekend, producers have been forced to send a film crew to her home in North Carolina, where she is expected to be interviewed later this week for a segment of the upcoming special. As for Evans' husband, David Eason, he will not be a part of her interview for the reunion because he is no longer appearing on the show.
While MTV doesn't want to associate themselves with Eason after his homophobic rant on Twitter in February, the Us Weekly source said that Eason has expressed interest in filming a segment with host Dr. Drew Pinsky. That said, it's hard to say at this point whether or not something like that could take place -- or if MTV would be open to such a thing.
MTV announced in February that with “six weeks left of production" on "Teen Mom 2," they chose to cut ties with David Eason after a series of homophobic tweets were shared on his page.
There was tons of drama at the 'Teen Mom 2' reunion
As Us Weekly revealed to readers, an alleged “physical altercation” took place between Kailyn Lowry and Briana DeJesus as they filmed the reunion and after the shocking report hit the web, Jenelle Evans seemingly reacted to the news on her Twitter page, telling her fans and followers that she was "so glad" she decided to stay home with her family, rather than rejoining her co-stars for the reunion taping.
"Too much drama! #CalledIt,” Evans tweeted.
As for Kailyn Lowry, she assured fans that she didn't get beat up by her "Teen Mom 2" co-star at the reunion. “I didn’t get beat up," she said. "I didn’t get hit. Reeeeeeeelax.” As for Briana DeJesus, she told Lowry to “get it together” after accusing her of being all talk and pretending she was going to fight her.
